Description

Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon or Khopa, is one of the oldest cities in Nepal.Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.It is a living museum of the traditional lifestyle, art, literature and consciousness of the Newar people. Here you will see a unique blend of important historical and cultural art and various architectural styles, along with preserved medieval traditional buildings.

We will start our journey from Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the main attraction of the city. Here you will see the 55-windowed palace, the ornate Batsala, the tall Nyatpol Temple, which is a wonderful example of architecture and various woodwork. Each of the structures here reflects the unique stories of medieval art, literature and architecture. While visiting the sites, I will inform you about the historical aspects of this place.

As you walk through the narrow cobblestone streets, you will still find skilled artisans practicing their ancient woodworking and stone craft. You will see shops selling pottery and how the pottery is made in front of the shops. You will also learn the history of how these pottery vessels, which reflect the ancient Nepali civilization, were passed down from generation to generation. The pottery square inside this square has given the city its artistic and magnificent aesthetic identity. If you want to make or learn pottery here, you can do that too.

As you walk around the square, you will be mesmerized by the intricate wooden windows and doors and various sculptures made with the architecture of the Newa civilization. In every corner, in every house, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the most exquisite craftsmanship and stone craft made by skilled craftsmen.

You will be able to enjoy the famous sweet yogurt dessert Jujudhou and delicious Newari dishes that are a special identity of Bhaktapur. The taste of Momo, which is a steamed dumpling filled with various dishes inside a flour dough, will be waiting for you, as well as the taste of other Newari dishes that you will never forget.
