Few Things to Know Before Your Trip

  • Altitude reaches 4,380 m – acclimatize properly to prevent altitude sickness

  • High up in the mountains, Gosainkunda holds deep meaning for many people. Because of its importance, visitors walk quietly around it. Water stays still when no one swims there. Trash does not belong near such a quiet place. Locals care deeply about keeping traditions alive. Their ways shape how others behave nearby. Peace grows where rules are followed without asking
  • Always have your permit ready before heading out. Travel papers should include proof of coverage just in case. Identification must be on hand at all times during the trip
  • Only basic services available – carry sufficient money, food, water, and supplies
